WHO ARE WE:

The YOUNG ENGINEERS, Inc. (TYE) has over fifty years’ experience in the design and manufacturer of aircraft and aerospace hardware, with a primary focus on fasteners for honeycomb panels and composite materials, typically utilized in aircraft/rotorcraft interiors, along with space applications.

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB SUMMARY

The Davenport Operator set-ups and/or operates one or more Davenport Multi-Spindle machines. Quality comes first. Ensures work is performed ethically while achieving the objectives stated in the Company Quality Policy. Ensures work is completed efficiently and properly while practicing safety policies and procedures. Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Set-up machines to the Manufacturing Set-Up Specifications and submit first article pieces to QA. Install assigned tooling, mechanical tooling, and load raw material. Begin running machine to produce First Article Inspection pieces

· Begin running machine while observing the operation. Monitor the operation through visual and audio observation

· Inspect and measure machined parts/components to verify conformance to specification. Use a variety of inspection equipment to measure parts to ensure conformance to print. Must have own measuring tools (i.e.,calipers, micrometers, etc.)

· Monitor all machine accessories during the machining operation. Replace worn machine accessories such as inserts, blades, drills, taps, end mills, drills, etc.

· Monitor all cutting/lubrication fluids in the machines. Add oil to the machine reservoir when required

· Follow standard operating procedures for completing each work order. At the completion of each job, tear down the machine, and prepare for the next set-up per work instructions

PYSICAL ACTIVITY:

• Heavy Lifting is required
• Must lift at least 25lbs.

EXPERIENCE:

• Must be experienced with changing collets, cams, and gears on a Model B - Davenport Machine (At least 1 year experience).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
