Catholic Charities is seeking a Data Specialist


POSITION SUMMARY

The Data specialist works with the project team on collecting and entering data related to a large, cutting-edge integrated behavioral health and primary care initiative at Catholic Charities’ Institute for the Hispanic Family in Hartford called the “Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).” Interviews clients to collect data for National Outcome Measures (NOMS) and enters data into agency electronic medical record and grant database. Assists Data Manager in generating reports which show agency progress on grant goals and objectives and required outcome measures of the CCBHC.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with team to obtain client consent to participate in the project evaluation and to schedule National Outcome Measures (NOMS) interviews.


  • Interview consumers to obtain National Outcome Measures (NOMs) evaluation data.


  • Work with project evaluation team to enter National Outcome Measures (NOMs) and health indicator data into corresponding database systems (agency electronic medical record, SPARS and Excel) for tracking and population health management.


  • Utilize collected data to create reports, tables, and spreadsheets for use in project management and reporting.


  • Score project survey instruments and provide results according to grant requirements. Ensure timely communication and accurate transfer of CCBHC study data and other critical information between the agency and project evaluator and to and from the Designated Collaborating Organizations (DCOs).


  • Utilize Carelogic reports and Excel to monitor and track deadlines for NOMs data. Work with project staff to obtain and enter NOMS data in a timely fashion.


  • Monitor and comply with standards for CCBHC assessment tools. Assist in special projects and perform other assigned duties to support the CCBHC team.


  • BA/BS in Human Services, Social Science, Information Services or related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in collecting and entering data for a social science or health care related research project or business function.
  • Familiarity, ability and comfort working with clients who have behavioral health and/or addiction issues.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); ability to create charts and graphs and presentations required.
  • Familiarity with Carelogic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or equivalent behavioral health record software a plus.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to Speak Spanish needed.
