Job Summary

The Advanced Analytics department at Priority Health is looking for a Data Scientist to support a growing portfolio of data science projects. As part of an integrated technical team, the Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform decision-making processes and improve the overall health outcomes for our members. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Actuarial, Population Health, and Medical Management to develop predictive models, perform statistical analysis, and create meaningful insights. Experience in data cloud technologies (e.g., Snowflake) and scripting languages such as Python strongly preferred.

Essential Functions

  • Develop predictive models using various statistical modeling techniques to identify patterns and trends in health care utilization, costs, and outcomes.

  • Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses and validate model accuracy.

  • Demonstrate ability to write and deploy production level code for a variety of strategic data science use cases.

  • Perform rapid data profiling of internal and external data sources to determine quality and value to business questions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven recommendations to optimize health plan performance.

  • Communicate findings and insights to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and data science techniques to drive innovation within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a quantitative discipline – mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, econometrics, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred Master's Degree or equivalent in computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or another related field.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in a quantitative discipline – mathematics, computer science, statistics, physics, econometrics, or a related discipline. Similar certified online education or work experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis Required
