Primary Purpose: The Data Entry Specialist’s role will be to enter new client information into our database and ensure accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will be computer savvy and a fast typist with a keen eye for detail. You will report to the Program Manager. Understanding data confidentiality principles is compulsory to manage the overall and daily business and operational aspects of CWS Jersey City.

Essential Duties

  • Enter and update client information in a database.
  • Create a spreadsheet to track important client information
  • Assist with special projects that require large amounts of data entry.
  • Attend training and meetings as requested by the supervisor.
  • Assist with data entry for monthly program reporting.
  • Maintain financial records and check requests in client case files.
  • Assists the resettlement supervisor in preparing and documenting monthly maintenance assistance requests and distributes disbursements.
  • Assists in submitting SNAP and Medicaid benefits applications and maintaining records.
  • Provide summary reports on client trends and other items upon request.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Understand program eligibility criteria.
  • Report data discrepancies to Program Manager.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) and at least 1 year of related work experience OR HS/GED diploma and at least five years of related work experience.

Skills:

  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work in a multicultural environment required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint);
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Basic accounting skills, and experience with data tracking preferred.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, and time management skills required.
  • Knowledge of US refugee resettlement is strongly preferred.

Special Requirements:

  • CWS’ U.S. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy requires all new staff to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as soon as reasonable, no longer than 60 days of employment.   • This position is based in the Jersey City office and will require both in-office work and remote work.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Driver’s license and access to a car to transport donations and/or clients is a plus.
