The Data & Analytics Engineer requires a skill set that focuses on a mix of software

development and IT administration with a curiosity for data science and building data-backed

applications to power a leading and growing marina REIT. This person will build production grade

pipelines, iterate quickly on minimum-viable-designs, maintain workflows, and collaborate with

the business on how to best build out business ideas to drive better decision-making across the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Data Engineering + Pipeline Maintenance

o Setup transfers of data feeds from source systems into location accessible to Foundry.

o Ingest new data sources using Foundry’s data ingestion UIs.

o Debug issues related to delayed or missing data feeds.

o Write transformations and derive new datasets.

o Monitor build progress and debug problems.

o Use Spark for distributed computation.

· Workflow Consultant

o Loading datasets into notebooks and then filtering / enriching /transforming datasets.

o Building analytical paths on the platform.

o Collaborating with operational users and analysts to turn commercial questions into standard workflows.

o Training users on analytical workflows.

· IT Administrations Coordinator + Governance

o On-boarding and off-boarding groups on the Foundry platform.

o Managing user permissioning.

o Managing project permissioning.

o Project governance in Foundry.

o Provisioning of sensitive data.

o Create and maintain a sensible data model of the organization.

· Application Development

o Using Foundry’s application development framework to design applications that address operational questions.

o Rapid development and iteration cycles with business users.

o Investigating data questions surrounding the application.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

· Relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g., computer science, mathematics, data science).

· 2+ years experience working in a data team regardless of industry.

· Experience with Palantir’s Foundry and AWS cloud strongly preferred.

· Proficiency in JavaScript (or TypeScript) and Python.

· Familiarity with or willingness to quickly learn Spark.

· Understanding of API's and RESTful endpoints.

· Understanding of development best practices (e.g., branching, testing).

· Familiarity with data visualization methods.

· Basic understanding of CSS/HTML.

· An analytical mindset and eagerness to solve technical problems with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.

· Understanding of descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive data analytics to build a culture of business intelligence with innovative technologies that improve decision-making.

· Ability to take on open-ended problems in unstructured environments and deliver quick results.

· Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.

· Experience with data management and integration within ERP systems (Oracle ERP/NetSuite), CRM systems, Point-of-sale systems, reporting, and data integration patterns and solutions; marina management systems experience is a plus.

· Must be an excellent communicator and comfortable in presenting to both business and technical audiences within the organization.

· Sets high standards with respect to the treatment of customers and peers.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

· This is a hybrid position, with a minimum 2 days a week at the home office.

· Must be able to travel on occasion.

· Working conditions vary from sitting, sedentary desk work to most of the workday on your feet, if on-site and traveling.

· Must be able to lift 15 lbs.
