The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Customer Service Representative to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of our Community Development department. The Customer Service Representative earns a competitive salary of $15.81 - $17.11 per hour based on qualifications. Additionally, the
city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. We also offer a retirement plan through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a 2:1 employer match, life insurance, disability, access to the city's recreation fitness center, employee assistance program, educational assistance, 11 paid holidays and 2 designated paid holidays, paid vacation, sick leave, and an active wellness program focusing on physical, mental, and financial health.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Essential Functions

  • Regular and timely attendance at work.
  • Answer phones and provide customer service; dispatch service technicians for repair calls.
  • Create and close work orders for line locate requests.
  • Assist with processing payroll.
  • Create work orders requested by residents and City crew members.
  • Assist with crew and residential work order closings.
  • Assist with printing scheduled inspections and entering inspection results.
  • Perform miscellaneous clerical duties such as copying, filing, and sorting or distributing mail.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of customer service in a clerical office setting is required.
  • Typing speed of 60 wpm minimum is required.
