SUMMARY

Under direction of the Accounting Supervisor or Location Leader, completes various accounting functions required to account for customer deliveries to or purchases from the location by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Work in a safe and efficient manner, according to AgState Safety Policy.

Utilize good customer service skills at all times, when servicing and greeting customers, and when working with co-workers and other departments within the company.

Listen to and resolve customer complaints and concerns.

Demonstrate work habits that develop, build, and support the team concept within the organization.

Prepare customer grain contracts, settlements and issues grain settlement checks as needed. Grain contracts should be completed with settlement information and filed appropriately or forwarded to Albert City.

Ensure settlements are made following all state requirements and make sure there is no lien on government hold.

Respond to customer inquiries at the counter and over the phone regarding such things as statements, sales, bids, grain contracting, grain offers and options, historical account activity, etc.

Prepare and print product invoices including invoices for feed, fertilizer, NH3, dry lime, seed, chemicals, and other miscellaneous products and ensure the proper product went out.

Take and prepare orders by phone, fax, or email for customers and communicate with the feed production teams as to the customer’s needs.

Weigh incoming and outgoing loads at scale, record grades, input scale tickets, and file tickets.

Invoice outgoing grain and prepare/input grain transfers.

Ensure all the documentation is completed for the Sales Agronomist to meet state requirements.

Review daily scale ticket printout, grain advance listing and 30-day list reports. Reconcile any differences and prepare corrections and notify appropriate branch locations.

Reconcile grain advance listing on a monthly basis.

Runs reports for Sales Agronomist on what they have sold and what needs to be brought in.

Manage deferred payment contracts for that location.

Balance cash drawer on a daily basis.

Keep work areas clean and neat in appearance at all times, and work the overtime as required.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional training in Hazmat regulations.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to speak and write basic English. Ability to read all safety signs.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to work with basic general accounting procedures.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be self-motivated and able to work in a team atmosphere. Must be able to work overtime hours as required.

Must be able to accurately and efficiently utilize IBM Compatible PC, AS400, Windows software products, advanced knowledge of Word and Excel, 10-key adding machine, fax machine, postage machine, copier, and telephone.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Driver License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; stand, walk, recline, change position, reach with hands, arms, pinch, pick bend legs/spine, stoop, kneel and use stairs, using leg/foot, use simple/firm grasp and fine manipulation. Frequently the employee will reach across midline, use arms/legs, hold, grasp, seize, and turn objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently move up to 10 pounds of force to move forms, boxes, or other office material as required. Accommodation for lifting will be offered for office related materials. No special vision requirements exist.

MACHINE CONTROL OPERATION:

While performing the essential functions of the job, employees will be exposed to the following machine operations: Computers, fax, copier, printer, radio, scale, and telephone.

This job entails working in an office environment with moderate noise from phones, printers, paging system, copier, and other standard office equipment.

Must be able to travel to other AgState locations up to 10% of the time. May occasionally be required to attend continuing education opportunities. Must attend all mandatory training, as required by OSHA and AgState
