Summary of Position:

New England Gypsum Supply, Inc.'s customer service representative will collaborate with the Outside Sales team and Sales Manager to determine necessary strategic sales approaches. Handles the overall coordination and execution of customer service; first point of contact with our customers. Will work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, where team work and initiative are necessities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all communications with customers are representative of the company culture, values, and practices
  • Greet customers warmly, politely and professionally and with the intention of serving the customer’s needs
  • Ascertain when to pass on customer questions to appropriate sales rep for additional product information
  • Responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent communication skills, basic knowledge of company products and services as well as working effectively with team members
  • Responsible for taking orders over the phone according to the Customer Service Rep’s Basic Responsibilities policy
  • Build & maintain positive working relationships with customers
  • Must use company computer system to enter customer orders and process vendor purchase orders
  • Complete sales orders by printing and reviewing all orders with the operations team
  • Responsible for processing credit card payments when applicable

  • Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers

Basic Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to self -manage, show initiative and be comfortable meeting the public
  • Be a team player, demonstrate attention to detail and have good organizational skills.
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Exceptional computer skills

Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to remain in stationary position 70%
  • Occasionally, will move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly working in office environment

Mental Demands:


  • Must be able to problem solve and prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to manage stress depending on tasks
  • Must be able to multitask
  • Must be able to receive and analyze financial information
  • Must be able to quickly communicate solutions if problems occur
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement
