We are currently seeking Custodians / Janitors for an immediate vacancies at schools throughout the Coachella Valley.

The * ideal candidate *will possess 6 months of prior experience working as Building Custodian, Building Service Worker, Building Services Technician, Cleaner, Custodial Worker, Custodian, Floor Tech (Floor Technician), Heavy Duty Custodian, Institutional Custodian or Janitor or experience in a similar cleaning position.

Pay: $18.00/Hour Location: Various Locations in Coachella Valley Start Date: ASAP

Length: Approximately 6 months Various shifts depending on location.

Days: Mon-Fri Shift: 10a-6:30p

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Job Related Proficiency Examination. Valid California Class C Driver’s License.

CLEARANCES: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance TB Clearance Pre-placement Physical Exam.

ABILITY TO:

• Perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school sites or facilities to maintain buildings and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
• Learn requirements of maintaining buildings in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
• Use various cleaning materials and methods.
• Learn appropriate safety precautions and procedures. Learn proper lifting techniques.
• Inspect and assure the security of facilities during assigned shift.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment in clean working order.
• Perform minor non-technical repairs.
• Observe and report need for maintenance and repair.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Meet schedules and time lines.
• Understand, be sensitive to and respect the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disabilities and sexual orientation of students, teachers, administrators and staff.
• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent and six months experience in custodial work.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 18 years of age to apply.
• Must show proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 or agree to weekly testing.
• Additional requirements or screening may apply, depending on the position and location.
