The Child and Family Guidance Center is currently seeking a full time Crisis Clinician in our Bridgeport Mobile Crisis Intervention Services group.

The Crisis Clinician is responsible for providing crisis intervention services to children ages zero to 18 or 19 if they are in school; experiencing a behavioral or mental health crisis. MCIS Clinician's goal is to serve children in their homes and communities to reduce the number of visits to hospital Emergency Departments, and divert them from hospitalization if a lower level of care is a safe, effective alternative.

The Crisis Clinician is a bi-lingual Spanish speaking preferred position. The Child & Family Guidance Center will provide a 2,500 sign on bonus to a verified bi-lingual candidate hired into this role.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following Essential Functions:

  • Providing mobile clinical assessments and treatment of children who are in a psychiatric crisis.
  • Ability to work a flexible off hours schedule as required by client need
  • Screening of crisis referrals over the phone.
  • Coordinating appropriate clinical response.
  • Completing a crisis assessment and an individualized crisis plan created with the input of the family.
  • Completing all required documentation in the electronic medical record system.
  • Providing brief short-term intervention to families as needed.
  • Arranging case management services where appropriate.
  • Involving various social systems impacting the child in the development of appropriated intervention and care for the child and family.
  • Arranging for appropriate after care.
  • Providing on-call coverage during the hours in which the EMPS program is not in full operation.
  • Attending all supervisions, case conference, meetings and trainings.
  • Provide support to Norwalk MCIS Team as needed
  • Provide support to other MCIS Teams across the state if required
  • Provide Community outreach as needed
  • Screening Outpatient ECC Clinic Calls and determining appropriate level of care
  • Meet all identified KPIs.
  • Accepting assignments or other tasks by the Program- Regional Director, Unit Director or CEO of The Child & Family Guidance Center

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or other related human service field. CT State License Eligible
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and families with emotional and behavioral difficulties and their families
  • Must have a driver’s license with access to a car and able to travel to travel within the greater Bridgeport and or Norwalk areas as needed.
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish Speaker is preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others while meeting deadlines
  • Able to work in an unstructured environment under pressure with intense emotional situations.
