SUMMARY
Responsible for Credit Risk Oversight for multiple markets. Credit Officers approve credits using significant credit authority and recommends approval of credit relationships to the Divisional Credit Officer or Chief Credit Officer. Approval includes assessing credit risk within any given loan request through effective financial analysis, collaborating with Relationship Managers, and other due diligence efforts. Credit Officers also help maintaining sound Credit Risk Practices within assigned Teams and Markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Approves, administers, and reviews loans and loan commitments requests to ensure adherence to existing policy guidelines and sound underwriting principles.
  • Administers and reviews existing credits to protect the quality and profitability of the loan portfolio.
  • Presents well-organized, accurate and complete analysis of recommendations for approval or decline.
  • Identifies potential problem credits and works with loan specialists to restructure the credit and/or minimize the losses.
  • Assures risk rating accuracy.
  • Training of lenders/credit analysts in credit risk practices
  • Work closely with the Division Credit Officer and Regional Credit Officer on special projects as needed.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or (B.S) from four-year college or university, with minimum of 5-10 years commercial/agricultural lending experience and/or work experience required.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Must possess common sense and logic/knowledge to be able to formulate and strategize options for any given situations. Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel. Must know Moody’s Risk Analyst program. Valid Driver’s license required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures, and perform spreadsheet analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
