Job Duties: This position will be part of the Court Services Domestic team. Job duties may include Mediation and Conciliation. Providing Mediation and Conciliation services includes facilitating agreements between parties by providing direction and encouragement, finding creative ways to assist parents in working together towards mutual agreement, and possessing the ability to maintain control of the conversation during times of conflict or disagreement. This person chosen for this position will also assist court patrons with referrals to resources and support in the Self- Help Center and in the courtroom setting. It may also include coordinating and collecting resources, organizing the Resource Fair, assisting with social media engagement, and court user education programs. This position will primarily work at the Johnson County Courthouse.

Required education/experience: Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field is required. One (1) year previous Social Services experience working with families and youth required. Certification in Core and Domestic Mediation required.

Preferred qualifications: Experience working with family court, high conflict families, mediation services or families who are separating or who have separated. This position requires attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills. Computer skills required. Ability to work both independently and with a team is required. Ability to maintain calm in stressful situations and to multi-task is important. The desired candidate must demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have good writing skills. The candidate should be able to work independently and as an efficient member of a team

Other: Successful candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
