Job Summary: The Training Specialist engages student workers, Corporate Work Study Program staff, DBCR Faculty, and corporate partners to analyze student worker/organizational needs in order to develop, design, implement, evaluate and continuously improve training programs to meet those needs. Strengthen student workforce readiness with the purpose to better prepare freshmen students for success in the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP). Develop and manage curriculum for the Leadership Academy. The Training Specialist will have a chance to build on established fundamentals while creating new content and programs.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as an ambassador for Don Bosco Cristo Rey and the Corporate Work Study Program.Oversee the implementation of the Cristo Rey Network CWSP CurriculumEnsure collaboration with the academic program to promote student success.Develop and implement Leadership Academy curriculum for freshmen students.Leadership Academy oCreate development-training program for Leadership Academy.oFocus on mastery of the following competencies within a business context: collaboration, critical thinking, communications, computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite), and professionalism.oInclude partner/guest speakers into lessons plans where appropriate.Summer Orientation Program: oPlan, manage and execute Summer Orientation training program, preparation and team building sessions for new students, along with a refresher orientation of returning students.oEngage corporate partners, supervisors and volunteers to assist with the programRetraining oCreate a Retraining program for those students who are referred for training oAssess the learning of the retraining the students preparedness for success in the workplaceSenior Capstone Class: oDevelop a curriculum for the class.oTeach and assess the students.Facilitate ongoing professional development such as corporate days of service Facilitate supervisor trainings through various mediumsSupport in planning supervisor events such as orientations, workshops, webinars and appreciation events.Other Duties as Assigned.Qualifications: Hold a bachelors degree in education, business, or related fieldHave a minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce training/development, curriculum development, or program developmentProficient in database, cloud-based, and/or learning management systemsHave a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel and WordPossess interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and corporate partnersDemonstrate ethnic, racial, and religious sensitivity of the student bodyMust be willing to work some evenings and weekends as neededDemonstrate a commitment to the Schools MissionHave experience with youth from urban or low-income communitiesIf you are interested in, and qualified for, this position, please send a resume and cover letter to: Gelynn HurtCWSP Directorghurt@dbcr.orgSubject line: Placement Specialist OpeningPlease visit www.dbcr.org for more information about the school and work study program.
