Job Summary: Cooks at the Café @ Rio provide astonishing customer service while serving students, staff and our local community by preparing high quality meals with ingredients sourced from local farmers, ranchers, artisans and our on-site garden.

Job Duties: Preparing food to order in front of customers; restocking station; breaking down station; cleaning area; exceeding Maricopa County Health Code Standards; organizing coolers; assisting in keeping food and paper items properly stored and stocked.

Knowledge & Experience: Ability to work as a team player and individually; experience providing astonishing customer service. Experience with basic knife cuts.

Desired Experience: Six months experience as a line cook or prep cook in a food and beverage setting.

Special Working Conditions: Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds; requires a food handler’s certificate or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Hours & Pay Rate:

Up to 19.5 hours per week;

Hours: Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:00 am – 3 pm; Exact shifts to be determined

This position is part‐time with no benefits.

The budget for this position cannot support regular overtime, blended overtime, or an increase to existing employee benefits.

This is an at‐will, temporary position.
