Controller Job at Goodman Properties
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Controller Position is responsible to lead, oversee, and manage all the accounting duties for a variety of Goodman entities which include construction, real estate brokerage, and property management. The controller will have 1-2 direct reports and serves as the HR professional.
DESCRIPTION:
Accountant/Controller – this is an opportunity to join the leadership team of an established, family-owned, private real estate company in Saint Clairsville, OH with 60+ years of history. Goodman entities involved construction, real estate brokerage, and property management and are comprised of over 20 companies. The controller will be involved in regular strategic planning to move the company forward.
JOB DUTIES:
- All general accounting activities for multiple entities, including monthly and yearly financial closing, short and long-term planning, and budgeting.
- Report on financial performance of business to assist in management decision processes.
- Monthly Financial statements for all entities
- Operate multiple software systems.
- Manage cash transfers between companies, inter and intra-company reconciliation.
- Construction Accounting: job costs, invoicing, profitability reports.
- Property Management Accounting: track rent payments, generate revenue and expense statements.
- Employee Payroll.
- Track Vacation and sick time for all paid employees
- Tax: plan and prepare for income tax filing and estimated tax payments.
- Handle all agent commissions including payment and sending reports to the agents.
- Monthly agent billing.
- Bank reconciliation for multiple entities.
- Credit card reconciliation for multiple entities.
- Cash reporting and balancing
- Vendor management
- Journal entry
- 1099 and W2
- Cash flow
- Vendor management
- HR – Benefits, Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment
- Inter-company notes
