Position: Content Writer | Remote Full-Time M-F 8:30am-5pm | Preferred Area - Palm Springs, FL

We are seeking a seasoned writer who has experience writing in the behavioral health arena. Content is a long-form blog and web page that educate readers about addiction, mental health, and treatment. You can count on at least five assignments a month with the potential for more.

Job Duties: Content Writer

• The Content Writer will be working on long-form web articles about substance use, mental health, and treatment
• Proven writing and editing skills
• Detail-oriented and committed to deadlines
• Experienced SEO writer with knowledge of best SEO practices
• Experience in the addiction treatment or mental health space
• Familiarity with SEO tools such as CogSEO or Semrush
• Knowledge of AP Style
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, or similar field preferred
• At least 5+ years’ experience writing and/or editing
  

Experience:

• Graduate from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, observation & Written skills.
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Patient Confidentiality laws.
• Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies.
• Knowledge of Workplace Violence.
• Knowledge of Corporate Integrity & Ethics.
• Knowledge of Addictions.
  
• Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health.
• Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program.
• Knowledge and competency in problem-solving, stress management, ethics, and team building.
• Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes;
  • Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual.
  • Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family.
  • Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
  • Knowledge of First Aid and CPR.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including Confidentiality, Patient Rights, Professional Code of Ethics, and Discrimination
