We are looking to add an Construction Safety Coordinator to our growing Rockdale Operation. As an Construction Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible in assisting in the coordination of safety activities for the construction site to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, Corporate and Facility safety regulations and initiatives. Monitor construction and contractors to eliminate hazardous activities. Promote occupational health and safety awareness. Support the creation of a healthy and safe workplace. To also assist the Construction HSE Manager and EPC site construction leadership to prevent injuries and illness and help continue to grow a strong, safety-oriented culture. This position will directly support our mining operations at our Rockdale, Texas location on-site, 5 days a week.

Essential Functions

• Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and company rules/policies.
• Educate contractor and field personnel on safety standards and expectations as well as the safe operation of machinery.
• Provide recommendations for improving safety within the workplace.
• Identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field.
• Have the right to stop work if safety guidelines are not properly followed.
• Assist to maintain safety and training documentation for employees and contractors.
• Assist EPC and operations departments with safety projects and improvements.
• Conduct safety walks and inspections before and during each project to analyze safety risks-Weekly
• Facilitate implementation of safe work techniques and effective safety methods and processes; Perform safety drills with team as needed to increase and improve safety awareness-Monthly
• Assist with investigation of incidents and near-misses that occur onsite and help to identify their root cause-As Needed
• Attend contractor safety meetings, daily toolbox, weekly and monthly safety meetings-Weekly/Monthly
• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify workplace hazards and implement hazard. controls before accidents occur.
• Assist with annual emergency evacuation drills-Yearly
• Other duties as required or assigned.

• Exercises discretion when involved in confidential and sensitive matters.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out instructions.
• Familiarization of the OSHA 1910 & 1926 standards.
• Demonstrated commitment to Safety.
• Ability to relate to management as well as hourly contractor employees.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills; work with minimal supervision, must be a self-starter.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Customarily and regularly exercise discretion and independent judgement.
• PC literate to include proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience with Construction Safety

Education and Experience

Formal safety training including OSHA 510, 511 certifications, OSHA 30, Hazwoper 40, is a plus

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
