Construction Manager
Job Description:
A Construction Manager provides oversight and leadership to supervise Jedson’s construction management activities on a project. Experience in heavy industrial. The manager is responsible for the staffing and development of construction positions along with the implementation and maintenance of project procedures. The manager must interface with clients and company project managers to ensure compliance with project procedures and/or take corrective action as necessary. The projects may vary in size and nature, but are mainly in the area of small capitals works, plant engineering and revamp type works. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Supervise and manage project activities including making hiring recommendations of staff and assignment personnel to meet project requirements
  • Develop, implement and maintain procedures necessary for project execution
  • Interface with project managers and clients to staff all assignments and to assure construction requirements and expectations are being achieved or exceeded and take corrective action as necessary
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of proposals for new projects
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, construction practices, safety issues and government regulations with regard to the construction industry
  • Ensure site safety and compliance of all construction personnel and contractors on site with safety programs



Requirements:
  • A technical related college degree or equivalent; construction science or engineering degree preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in heavy industrial and has construction management experience on medium to large size projects
  • Must be able to read and interpret P&ID’s, General Arrangements, Equipment Specifications, etc.
  • Knowledge in construction methods and practices, including safety codes and requirements
  • Effective communication, supervision, and managerial skills
  • Must have a high level of computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Legal authorization to work in the USA on a full time basis
