POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary role of the Compliance Officer will center on compliance and auditing of various programs and procedures such as Food Defense, QC, HACCP, SQF, GMP, FDA, UEP, EPA, OSHA, Rose Acre Farms Safety, Rose Acre Farms Bio-Security any other necessary programs and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsibilities include documentation, tracking, and compliance, while working closely with the Complex Manager and informing them of all issues with the aforementioned functions as well as any other issues that may come to their attention. This list is not exclusive and may require working in other departments as needed.
  • Responsible for helping prepare the complex for any program audits.
  • Must be able to follow all OSHA and Rose Acre Farms Safety and Bio-Security standards thoroughly, and must report any violations of these policies to the Complex Manager.
  • Must treat all employees, customers, and visitors with respect and courtesy and in compliance with all State and Federal laws.
  • Must utilize excellent teamwork skills – as with many jobs this position requires a team attitude.
  • Must handle multiple tasks at once – the ability to deal with stressful situations.
  • Must be able to write effective and accurate reports.
  • Must perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs, and moving entire body such as climbing, lifting at least 50 pounds, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Given the many aspects of the Rose Acre Farms business you will be involved with, it is important to recognize that many of the processes and documents that you prepare and see are strictly confidential information of Rose Acre Farms and that information belongs to Rose Acre Farms. You are required to keep confidential information you see and produce while employed at Rose Acre Farms and for 5 years after employment at Rose Acre Farms. Failure to keep all information confidential within ROSE ACRE FARMS is immediate grounds for dismissal.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for assisting the area human resources director with coordination of meeting and events on site.
  • Capable of working weekend shifts and maintaining a flexible schedule to help other departments should they need assistance on a particular day. This may include working nights, and holidays.
  • Capable of working late (if needed) past the scheduled leave time to complete the job.
  • Some travel is required when deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High School education is required; additional training and certification in farm operations, office procedures, and computer applications is desired.
  • Must be familiar with and able to easily navigate general computer applications including but not limited to Open Office, MS Word, Excel, Libre, Word Programs, Spreadsheets, E-mail, and various other applications as required.
  • Must have excellent communication and people skills, including the ability to train new employees and assist with employee orientations.
  • Must be honest and ethical and perform all functions of job in such manner.
  • Must be reliable and responsible.
  • Attention to detail and thorough in completing work tasks efficiently.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be self-motivated and willing to take on new responsibilities.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, being open to change (positive and negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.
  • Must be persistent in the face of obstacles.
  • Must be able to maintain composure even in very difficult situations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
