The Compliance Director is responsible for maintaining the bank’s overall compliance programs, including but not limited to reviewing deposit and loan functions and accounts ensuring that bank policies and financial interests are maintained; as well as making sure that the bank is complying with applicable federal and state laws and regulations. The Compliance Director provides necessary reporting to Management and the Board of Directors for all Peoples Bank and Trust (PBT) departments and branches.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Review current policies making sure they are within FDIC and State guidelines
  • Liaise with department heads to ensure that all operations are in line with policies
  • Research new or updated regulations and train or inform the appropriate departments
  • Research compliance issues in all departments of PBT
  • Check procedures in place ensuring that they are within compliance policies and recommend changes as necessary
  • Coordinate changes in policy and procedures with the departments and branches
  • Manage the BSA/AML functions
  • Perform audits and compliance reviews within bank departments and branches to ensure that they are operating within bank compliance policies and procedures
  • Manage, track, and report “findings” of audits and examinations

Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage and complete 314a FINCEN compliance review
  • Manage completion and review of SAR report
  • Manage CTR Completion
  • Complete and follow through on BSA Training for all employees
  • Schedule and Coordinate annual BSA Audit
  • Complete and oversee Reg CC, Reg E, Flood, CRA, TRID and Fair Lending trainings and reviews
  • Complete annual ACH risk assessment
  • NMLS / MLO management
  • Manage all new Regulation training
  • Manage Cash Audits
  • Coordinate updates of disclosures as needed
  • Coordinate annual privacy mailing
  • Research questions as they relate to compliance for all departments

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Complete understanding of Federal (FDIC) and state bank regulations as related to bank policies and functions, knowledge of bank functions and
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5+ years of banking experience preferred
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Organizational Skills, High Degree of Integrity, Knowledge of Banking Regulations, Knowledge of Bank Policies, Proficient research skills, Ability to follow through on projects, Accomplished at multi-tasking, Excellent time management skills, High level of self-motivation, Strong communication skills, Excellent training skills, Must be dependable and punctual


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
TALKING: Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly
AVERAGE HEARING: Ability to hear average conversations at a standard level in an office environment around other customers and bank personnel
REPETITIVE MOTION: The employee is regularly required to type throughout the day
FINGER DEXTERITY: The employee is regularly required to use their hands to type and maneuver a mouse
AVERAGE VISION: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus with 20/20 vision (with or without the assistance of eyeglasses/contacts)
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (unassisted)
as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time


WORKING CONDITIONS

General professional office environment with climate control. Vibration and loud surroundings. Adequate lighting. Require periodic traveling to all PBT Branches. Flexible schedule to accommodate training etc. Occasional meetings with clients or bank personnel outside of normal business hours.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Strong numeric capabilities; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly
