POSITION SUMMARY

We are pleased to offer the job opportunity as Community Services Manager with the DuPage County Community Services Department. This position is responsible for formulation, development, implementation and supervisor of all programs and activities of the Intake and Referral unit.

This position is dependent on available funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the work of subordinate personnel engaged in the Intake and Referral unit
  • Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
  • Ensures staff compliance with division policies and procedures and applicable regulations
  • Develops, organizes and coordinates the implementation of established goals, objectives, plans, and daily activities of service generated programs, activities and projects as well as monitors, researches, and participates in activities that will promote these programs/projects
  • Assists with the Call Center for intake and referral
  • Develops and evaluates tracking tools to assist in monitoring the effectiveness and efficiency of various programs
  • Assist in seeking/maintaining Alliance of Information and Referral Accreditation for Intake and Referral Department
  • Represents the Community Services Department at meetings, presentations, and workshops
  • Maintain statistics and prepares reports as requested
  • Assists the Administrator with monitoring and administering Community Services Block Grant Programs and Area Agency on Aging Programs
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Exercises supervision of personnel in related area of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field. Five years of experience in overseeing a Human Services program and one year of supervisory experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Must possess and maintain a Certification for Community Resources Specialist (CRS) from the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS) or apply and obtain within one year of hire date.

A pre-employment background check is required.
