About The Job
Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Community Relations Associate. This position will support Sandy Spring Bank’s community relations, partnerships, and outreach and will also coordinate corporate giving reporting to the Community Partnerships and Investments Manager , this individual is a talent communicator (written and verbal), and has a strong background or aptitude in community relations and public relations. Able to manage multiple projects, the Community Relations Associate will also support other marketing initiatives and interact with key constituents at all levels of the company and in the community.
Areas of focus:
Community Relations Support: Collaborate with business line leaders and review/process sponsorship requests. Ensure the timely delivery of marketing resources (e.g. logos, advertisements, branded items, etc.). Manage logistics for a range of community initiatives, such as employee volunteer activities, panel discussions, and more.

Event Leadership: Collaborate with the client growth strategy team and other business line leaders to execute event logistics for key community and client events. Collaborate on the implementation of each event with the goal of driving brand awareness, foot traffic, and revenue growth for each industry event.

Outreach and Engagement: Helps develop and manage community relations communications plans for external and internal audiences. Leverages traditional and social media in creative ways in order to achieve community relations goals. Assists in media relations and communication efforts for the Bank.

Project Management: Develop and execute project plans (using Smartsheet or other Bank programs) with clear objectives, goals and tactics to support community relations work and other special projects. As needed, collaborate with teams across the Bank including public, client growth strategy, the office of the CEO, and internal communications/employee engagement.

Social Media Support: Partner with the brand team to provide recommendations on the Bank’s editorial calendar and assist with monitoring of the Bank’s social media channels. Draft content related to community relations, partnerships, outreach and giving. Identify new ways to drive engagement.

Tracking and Reporting: Establish and track quarterly and annual KPIs. Compile analytics from across platforms and translate into actionable recommendations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field. At least five to seven years of work experience. Banking experience a plus but not required.

Excellent writing (for different channels) and problem-solving skills. Passion for innovation.

Strong project management and verbal communications skills. Must be able to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines. Detail oriented.

Proficiency in social media channels

Excellent knowledge of MS Office.

Digitally fluent - ability to easily learn technological systems and apps; contribute to the digitization of our work; experience working in an agile environment

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus.

Experience with graphic design a plus.

SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required

Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements.
Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions.
Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
