Tumamoc Hill, known in O’odham as Cemamagi Du’ag, Horned Lizard Mountain, is on the ancestral lands of the Sobaipuri and Tohono O’odham peoples. This volcanic hill is of prominent ancestral, cultural, and sacred significance to the O’odham nations, including the Tohono O’odham Nation, Gila River Indian Community, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and the Ak Chin Indian Community, as well as the Hopi Tribe and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

Duties & responsibilities:
- Maintains laboratories, libraries, and all public spaces in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
- Maintains facility grounds and environment in a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and healthy condition.
- Performs general preventative maintenance using a variety of equipment and handles tasks that are not complex enough to need the specialized training of a licensed tradesperson, such as a plumber or electrician.
- Performs a variety of duties in and around buildings and grounds. May perform investigatory research or evaluations to identify appropriate programs or services.
- Serves as a liaison and provides support to community outreach programs. May collect data to assist in evaluating programs and identify needs for additional programs.
- Applies technical horticultural knowledge of species, pests, and diseases to influence decisions regarding cultivation, landscaping, and plant species selection.
- Prunes and cares for trees and shrubs to improve their appearance, health, and value.
- Plans, develops, and formulates procedures.
- Coordinates operational activities in the research field operation, providing support services to researchers and technicians.
- Manages the ordering, inventory, storage, and maintenance of supplies, lab ware, and instruments essential to the operation of the lab or field research.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, skills, & abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of the organization, job content, practices, and procedures at Tumamoc Hill.
- A breadth of knowledge enabling a high level of contribution to all aspects of the job.
- Ability to train employees and stewards.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
