Due to high demand and growth, we are currently seeking a Communications Director to lead Corporate Communications, Executive Communications, Media Relations, Crisis Communications, and Internal Communications.

In this highly visible role, you will work with cross functional partners and stakeholders, to develop a comprehensive comms strategy that will help to 1- reinforce Wedgewood Pharmacy’s position as the leader in compounded animal medication and 2- provide information and education to the broader market, veterinarians, and consumers regarding the value of these medications.

What you will do: (in more detail)

Internal Communications:

• Develop an internal communications program to ensure a holistic and clear approach for internal information sharing.
• Lead the (re) development and agenda for company town halls.
• Identify and develop a cadence for an “always on” internal communications program within defined channels and levers.
• Work in partnership with the executive leadership team and other stakeholders, to ensure critical updates and information are shared within a timely manner, and within a consistent tone and framework.
• Work with key stakeholders, including the HR team, to ensure all key communication material are regularly updated (this includes boiler plates, vision and mission statements, company strategy, etc.)

External Communications, Media Relations, and Reputation Management:

• Lead the development of an always on external communications program that will reinforce Wedgewood Pharmacy’s position in the market.
• Lead crisis communications and proactive reputation management.
• Secure media and speaking opportunities that will enable the Wedgewood Pharmacy team to inform and educate both consumers and industry partners to be informed about compounded medications.
• Work hand in hand with eCommerce and social media teams to develop a robust owned and consumer friendly content strategy to help inform and educate prospects and the larger market about Wedgewood and its portfolio of compounded medications.

Brand Communications:

• Develop a comprehensive plan to scale Wedgewood Pharmacy’s position on Linkedin, by designing a defined drumbeat of brand and executive content.

Who you are:

• You are a creative problem solver and someone who is not afraid to make cold or introductory calls to industry journalists and thought leaders.
• You are excited and energized by delivering valuable and measurable results.
• You are motivated by turning a “no” into a “yes”
• You have 8-10 years of experience in media relations and/or communications.
• You have previous agency or in-house media relations and/or communication experience (Health and/or Pet Care Services industry is a plus)
• You have a strong work ethic and are excited by the idea of having a hand in taking a strong business to new heights.
