SUMMARY:

The Communications Associate will be responsible for providing support to HBG’s Communications team, reporting into the SVP, Corporate Communications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Bookends (HBG intranet) with content creation, homepage graphics, company calendar, and site administration and strategy
  • Coordinate content from HR, Facilities, IT and other contributors for weekly internal recap, This Week @ HBG
  • Coordinate Hachette Reads program with publishers and ERGs, support author events in program
  • Manage HOLLi (ebook + audiobook library for staff), upload new titles, create feature shelves
  • Track HBG bestsellers, corporate press coverage, industry tech news; compile weekly Digital Digest
  • Order and ship book donations and handle check requests for donations
  • Handle monthly T&E reports and assist with invoice coding/electronic filling
  • Schedule and support meetings for SVP Communications and Communications Director
  • Various other duties as assigned including but not limited to: assisting with special projects and company events, creating resources for publicists on Bookends, supporting DEI initiatives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Prior administrative assistance in busy executive office and/or prior PR/marketing experience preferred
  • Strong interest in book publishing
  • Ability to multi-task and manage tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
  • Must have an ability to learn different computer systems/databases easily and have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and to partner with colleagues in multiple departments with varied roles
  • Experience with information and graphic design preferred

The compensation for this position is $50,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, location and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
