Citarella, The Ultimate Gourmet Market, is seeking a Commissary Kitchen Packer to join our growing family The Packer is responsible for the daily packaging of assortment of hot food/prepared foods such as soups, grilled meats and veggies, salads, and pasta dishes. With a keen eye for detail, you will build muscle memory, weighing, portioning, and labeling various dishes that will then be shipped to and offered at our Citarella store locations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Pack, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs of merchandise
• Weighing, portioning, safe food handling of various dishes and cooked foods
• Team player, self motivated and driven to grow
• Organizational skills
• Time management skills

Tasks/Responsibilities:

• Pack the products in the proper table, temperatures and/or environment
• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
• Ensure quality control of items before packing
• Inspect all dates, labels and quantity of all products
• Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
• Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
• Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment,
• Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in the correct uniform.
• In addition, other duties maybe required as directed by your manager.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to perform physical requirements of position including standing for extended periods of time and possibly in refrigerated work areas
• Lifting loads 50+ lbs
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions, conduct business related mathematics and analyze data as required.
