Eddie Kane Steel Products has been a family owned and operated business providing exceptional service in the steel industry for over 20 years. The company motto has always been to "Treat others as you would have them treat you" and we are in search of several full time CNC Machinists for both the day and night shifts in our Statesville, North Carolina location.

Note: Currently hiring for 1st and 2nd shift.

General Description: Proficient in CNC Machining and Blanchard-Shafer Grinding.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows all safety guidelines and standards.
  • Check all documentation before beginning a work order.
  • Check material for size and correct dimensions as well as quantity before beginning the work order.
  • Setup machine and/or any tooling required to machine/grind the parts.
  • Run a scratch test to ensure proper program is loaded into CNC machine
  • Record all information on work order.
  • Complete Production Log daily.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Performs general lubrication maintenance to the work center.
  • Maintain neat and accurate written documentation as required.
  • Report any problems or quality concerns to supervisor immediately.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

Ability to read Micrometers, calipers and tape measure

CNC experience as well as Blanchard type grinding experience

Basic reading and mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)

Dexterity skills & balance

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Ability to lift (with hands & arms), bend, stoop, squat, stand or walk for extended periods of time

Good oral & written communication skills

Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others

Ability to run overhead crane

Ability to become forklift certified

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Prior experience helpful

Expectations:

  • Work in a safe and controlled manner and operate equipment within the designated capacity
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times. Use any available time to clean work area and ensure all debris is disposed of properly.
  • Promptly report any accidents, incidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to your supervisor
  • Familiarity with all EKSP forms, documents, reports related to your job function, including but not limited to forms and reports related to inventory, logistics, & production/operations departments
  • Maintain neat and accurate written production documentation as required
  • Communicate all pertinent job related information to supervisor/manager on a daily basis
  • Forward-thinking while learning from errors, with focus on quality and customer service, solutions and continual improvements
  • Focus on efficiencies and time- and labor-saving steps; cost reduction
  • Performs all duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
