Under the direction and supervision of the Course Director, the CNA Instructor, the individual will serve as Nursing Assistant theory/lab and/or clinical instructor. The instructor must be dependable, able to work independently, and have open communication with staff and students. Courses include Certified Nursing Assistant.

Example of Duties:
1. Serve as NA theory/lab and/or clinical instructor.
2. Maintain records.
3. Other duties as assigned.

Ability To:
1. Prepare students for the Nursing Assistant Exam.
2. Provide students entry-level employment skills in Nursing.
3. Provide students hands-on training to gain entry-level employment in the field of training.
4. Establish and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with supervisors, staff and students at all times.
5. Perform routine clerical work; maintain records and meet deadlines.
6. Operate a computer and other office equipment.
7. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
8. Maintain confidentiality.
9. Maintain punctuality with minimal absenteeism.
10. Present a professional appearance at all times.

Knowledge Of:
1. Current trends in nursing practices.
2. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
3. Oral and written communication skills.
4. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. LPN or LVN or RN currently licensed in the State of California.
2. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
3. A minimum of three (3) years in Nursing, with a minimum of two years of full-time experience as a licensed Nurse, and at least one (1) year full-time of which must be in the provision of direct patient care in nursing facility (also long term care facility).
4. Evidence of continuing education and self-development. Within six (6) months of employment and prior to instructing a certification program, the Instructor must obtain a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing and evaluation of educational programs in Nursing. (24-hour BRN-approved DSD courses) These courses must be administered by an accredited educational institution and approved by the Board of Registered Nursing. A transcript of successfully completed courses shall be sent to the Department of California Code of Regulations (CCR). A copy will be kept on file in Personnel.
NOTE: If the applicant has a nursing teaching credential, then submit a copy of the credential for Department review. If the credential is approved, then the twenty-four (24 hours of CEU) DSD course is not required.

6. Possess a current CPR/First Aid card.
7. Possess a valid and appropriate driver’s license.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Work Location: In person
