Brown & Brown is seeking a Claims Liaison Specialist for our team in Lake Mary, Florida.
Reporting to a team leader, the position’s primary responsibilities include coordinating accurate accounting for claims data and interpretation of excess insurance policies. Duties include developing a thorough understanding of excess coverage in relation to member policies as well as reconciliation of claim loss runs and claims disbursements, computation of excess recoverable from paid claims, accounting for billed and unbilled recoverable amounts, reporting loss data for development of external actuarial reports and audits.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Cash Accounting
  • Prepare bank reconciliation for the combined claims account.
  • Post journal entries as they relate to claims bank reconciliation.
  • Excess Recoverable Accounting
  • Reconcile and record excess payables and receivables.
  • Organize workflow to ensure timely billing to excess carriers.
  • Analyze and report on property aggregates, track collections.
  • Liaison between Underwriting and Claims Administration
  • Work as liaison between Underwriting and claims service provider.
  • Monitor the handling of claims by TPA claims service provider(s).
  • Support Actuarial Review
  • Organize reporting of claims data for liability determination for external audit
  • Respond to audit questions and issues as they relate to claims data.
  • Provide and verify claims data with actuary.
  • Respond to actuary questions and issues as they relate to claims data.
  • Reconcile claims data to financial data.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Required
  • Associate’s degree or 5 years of experience in the insurance field specific to claims, accounting and policy interpretation.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including Access.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline.
  • Insurance designations or licensing.
  • Power BI Reporting experience
