Come be a part of our award-winning, nationally accredited Parks and Recreation team! There are a variety of youth camp and childcare opportunities within the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. Explore the possibilities below and make your selections within the application.

There are opportunities working with youth in multiple locations through the Parks system. You will find opportunities within our family centers, at our Rutledge Wilson Farm Park, Valley Water Mill Equestrian Center, and SPARC (School Parks Are Reaching Communities). SPARC is a partnership with Springfield Public Schools that brings recreation and enrichment experiences to youth and families in our community.
  • Family Center Childcare: Drop-in childcare is available for guests at each of the three Springfield-Greene County Park Board family centers: Chesterfield, Doling, and Dan Kinney. This position will supervise children ages 3 months-8 years with an emphasis on safety and friendliness. Providing an interactive and engaging experience for children is our mission.

  • Rutledge-Wilson Program Assistant:
    This position will be responsible for assisting the Farm Park Supervisor in developing, implementing, scheduling and facilitating programs offered at the Farm Park. This position will lead and present a variety of educational programs for school groups, homeschool groups, summer camps, and other community groups. This position will work with people of all ages and will be responsible for supervising participants of any educational program.

  • Youth Summer Camps at RW:
    Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park offers summer camps for ages four-twelve years old. This position will lead indoor and outdoor activities, lessons, crafts, games, animal interactions, cow train rides, pony rides, and more. This position will be responsible for supervising summer camp participants while presenting an overall professional image with associates, volunteers, campers, and the public.
  • Youth Before-and-After-Care at RW: Rutledge-Wilson Farm park offers before-and-after-care in addition to their summer camps. This position will lead the before-and-after-care program by facilitating activities and supervising participants. This position will also present an overall professional image with associates, volunteers, campers, and the public. Must be 16 or older.
  • Youth Summer Day Camps with SPARC: SPARC offers summer camps to elementary and middle school aged youth. Activities could include recreation programs, outdoor activities, swimming, field trips, art days, and more. Team members will be responsible for facilitating activities while supervising small groups of participants. This position will work on a collaborative team dedicated to providing a valuable, enriching experience to our youth.
  • Youth Before-and-After School Programs with SPARC: SPARC offers before-and-after school programs to elementary and middle school aged youth. Activities could include recreation, learning and social experiences.. Team members will be responsible for facilitating activities while supervising small groups of participants. This position will work on a collaborative team dedicated to providing a valuable, enriching experience to our youth.
  • Youth Program Inclusion: SPARC is dedicated to providing a valuable experience to all participants, regardless of ability. This assignment is responsible for adapting activities, maintaining a safe environment, and providing individualized assistance to ensure a positive experience.

Candidate's rate of pay will be determined at the time of offer. Pay rates are determined based on experience and education, and will vary based on the assignment.

Qualifications and Requirements

Experience, Education, and Training

  • Entry-level position, no experience is required;
PREFERRED
  • Depending on the assignment, specific experience within the program area.

Licensing/Certification
  • If operating a motor vehicle for the purpose of completing job duties, must possess a valid Missouri Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
