Title: Child Care Licensing Complaint Contractor

Work Location: The successful candidate will be located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and work will be remote. The State will provide a laptop and access to necessary systems and programs as needed to conduct this work.
Scope of Work
Client is seeking a consultant to assist in processing reports of alleged non-compliance with Client child care registration and licensing rules. This includes investigating the complaint allegations and documenting findings in the Sioux Falls, SD region for registered family day care providers and licensed child care centres.
Expertise required to complete this work includes knowledgeable of child development and South Dakota child care registration and licensing standards. The work also requires strong communication skills and interpersonal communication skills. Experience in general investigative and interviewing techniques involving adults will be helpful, but not a requirement. The Consultant must have the ability and means to travel within the Sioux Falls region (Minnehaha, Lincoln, Clay, and Union counties) and have a cell phone for communication.
The Client estimates this work will require an average of 40 hours per week. The Client will provide the Consultant with process manuals, required templates, and computer. Activities include but are not limited to:
a. Intake – The Consultant will initiate the intake process of all concerns submitted from across the state using Client templates. Complaints are received via phone, e-mail, Client website, complaint hotline, and Child Protection Services. The Consultant will communicate with licensing supervisor and staff regarding each report received.
b. Investigation –In the Sioux Falls region, the Consultant will conduct on-site visits to observe and interview program staff regarding allegations of non-compliance alleged. Document work completed using Client templates. The Consultant will share the investigation information gathered and provide a recommendation on the investigation outcome to the licensing staff.

Pay: $70.00 - $73.00 per hour
