The State of New Hampshire, Department of Safety, Division of Motor Vehicles has a part-time vacancy for a Program Assistant II. This is a part-time position and shall not exceed 29.5 hours a week.

SCOPE OF WORK : Performs paraprofessional duties to facilitate the messaging needs of the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Works under the direction and guidance of the Director of Division of Motor Vehicles and the Department of Safety’s Strategic Communications Officer.

ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Assembles public information and prepares dissemination of information on topics such as State and Federal updates, policies, procedures and activities relating to Driver Licensing, Motor Vehicle Registrations and Titles, DMV offices, Motorcycle R ider Training, Driver Education and Pupil Transportation.

Develops, updates, edits and properly maintains a variety of public information documents, files, plans, procedures, databases, graphics and publications, including audio, video, digital and paper publications.

Assist s with coordinating the content and organization of the DMV website according to standards and updates information as required. Promotes the DMV and DMV related content through social media platforms that include Facebook, Twitter, and others.

Supports logistics of and participates in public outreach events including interacting with the public of all types and ages, including public and private entities, associations, groups, agencies, etc.

Maintains a level of proficiency in design software, social media platforms and online news platforms (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Contribute, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, HootSuite, Old Reader, etc.) and designs, modifies, and updates forms, files, plans, procedures and outreach materials including audio, video, digital and paper formats as needed.

Initiates, develops and maintains partnerships with public and private external stakeholders such as municipal agents, associations and automobile dealers to further the outreach and effectiveness of DMV messaging efforts.

Provides information to agency staff, other state employees, local officials, stakeholders and the general public in various forms, including electronic mail and telephone inquiries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

1.5 Years of additional relevant experience = Associate's Degree

3 Years of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's Degree

4.5 Years additional relevant experience = Master's Degree

Education : Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in business, information technology, communications, journalism, English, graphic design, design, liberal arts, photography, education, public administration o r related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

Experience : Three years of experience in business, information technology, communications, journalism, graphic design, design, liberal arts, photography, education, public administration or related field with responsibility for providing program information to others. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of formal education.

License/Certification: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in developing professional social media content. Experience in writing, editing and proofreading documents. Experience in creating and editing written documents, audio files and video files in both digital and non-digital formats.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Selected candi date will undergo a fingerprint- based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check in order to ensure suitability for exposure to confidential information.
