QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Experience: Six (6) years of experience in property appraisal or assessment including three years of experience in a management level position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • This position requires certification as Illinois Assessing Officer and/or other qualifications as described in 35 ILCS
  • Madison County, IL residency requirements must be met within 6 months of hire


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzing reports and recognizing the various factors affecting assessment program
  • Laws and regulations relating to property assessment
  • County policies and procedures, rules and regulations
  • Ability to manage projects and multiple priorities and people simultaneously
  • Knowledge of building construction practices & building and land values
  • Information Technology as relates to dissemination of real estate assessment databases between Township and County real estate tax officials
  • Planning & supervising the work and scheduling of others
  • Plan, analyze and evaluate programs and services, operational needs & fiscal restraints
  • Provide leadership to effectively resolve issues
  • Appraisal Methods
  • Ability to use software that includes spreadsheets, data bases and appropriate software
  • Maintain confidentiality
