Performs process control testing for all chemical processes in accordance with internal procedures and specifications. Notifies management when processes are out of tolerance or control and product is impacted. Assures compliance to NADCAP process control requirements. Performs required product tests and assures testing, replacement testing and re-tests are performed in accordance with specification requirements. Assures compliance to NADCAP testing requirements. Identifies materials and processes that do not conform to requirements as nonconforming. Assures all required lab instruments are calibrated prior to use. Calibrates instruments as needed. Assures equipment that is broken or not calibrated is identified or removed from service. Maintains records on SPC, and continuous improvement activities. Requests testing from outside lab and test equipment requirements when required. Maintains all required laboratory records and that they are readily accessible upon request by management and/or auditors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

•To monitor, the chemical analysis and testing of Mistras chemical processing tanks.

•Review new chemical and chem lab specifications and internal procedures as required.

•Execute, enter data and maintain chem lab logs and records.

•Review test results and test specimens against the test/verification acceptance criteria and when required submit to Engineering for disposition.

•On acceptable completion of training: Utilize and implement tools and methods for Chem Lab and Chem Line process continuous improvement in accordance with Mistras’ QMS.

•To monitor chemical inventories as required for daily operations.

•To submit requisitions for chem lab/line materials.

•To ensure that requisitions contain all of the required ordering data (type, class, grade, etc.) and when required, that the materials are procured by only suppliers listed on the Mistras Approved Suppliers List.

•To periodically review the Chem Lab equipment that affects, controls or measures Chem Lab/Line processes and to ensure that they are calibrated and the calibration is up to date.

•To inspect and verify that equipment requiring calibration has a valid calibration label and is free from damage prior to use.

•Able to perform, assist and cooperate with internal and customer auditors by responding to questions and queries.

•To identify, segregate and initiate the processing of internal Nonconforming Material Reports for any nonconforming product/processes identified in the course of normal duties.

•Conduct test to evaluate the efficiency of the process

•Problem solving and providing clear, supported and concise recommendation to management.

•Complete all required training, and testing, within company guidelines.

•Must be able to assist in NADCAP preparation and audits.

•Other duties as assigned by Lab Manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•Knowledge of chemicals and formulations

•Computer (Basic: Word Processing, Spread Sheet, Database Data Entry)

•Understanding and have the ability to execute chemical analysis, titration’s, and testing as required by specification and internal procedure.

•Strong communication skills to promote good team environment

•Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

•College course work is highly desirable, but not required.

•High school diploma

•Valid Driver’s License

•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

•Proficiency with word processing software, spreadsheet software, email software, and the use of the internet.

•Able to transport pallets and drums using a forklift.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

•Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
