Chain Saw Operator – Lebanon, PA

Currently, we are seeking an experienced Chain Saw Operator for our Hardwood Lumber Mill for first shift.

Candidate must have knowledge of chain saw operations, chain saw repair & maintenance including cleaning, oiling, and greasing equipment properly. Measure logs and cut them into specified log lengths, using chain saws. Inspecting and assess logs before cutting to ensure that they are metal free, and quality and lengths are correct.

Willingness to work outside year-round in a log yard environment with other employees focusing on workplace efficiency and product quality, while maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to continuous improvements with special emphasis on safety, avoiding kickback, quality, environment, production, and cost.

Seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual that possess solid interpersonal skills allowing them to work effectively in a diverse team working environment.

Skills, Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Experience in chain saw operations and bucking characteristics of a tree.

Knowledge of grade in a log as well as how to cut a log to maximize the amount of board footage.

Measure logs and cut them into specified log lengths, using chain saws.

Determine position, direction, and depth of cuts to be made, and placement of wedges or jacks.

Assess logs after cutting to ensure that the quality and lengths are correct.

Maintain and repair chainsaws and other equipment, cleaning, oiling, and greasing equipment.

Job Requirements:

Previous industrial chain saw operating experience (seeking professional)

Experience in measuring and bucking a tree to length.

High School Diploma or GED.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
