Holmes Lake Rehabilitation and Care Center is a small, family-owned skilled nursing facility looking for a Certified Dietary Manager.

The Certified Dietary Manager will be responsible to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Food Services department in accordance with established food services standards, policies, procedures, and practices of this facility and requirements of current federal, state and local standards governing the facility and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Job Duties:

· Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Food Service Department, its programs, and activities.

· Coordinate Food Service services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.).

· Develop and maintain a file of tested standard recipes.

· Participate in Quality Assurance programs, and any facility committee or programs, which seeks to improve the performance and accuracy of resident care.

· May serve meals if needed.

· Order supplies.

· Create and maintains employee schedules.

· Participates in assessing, planning, and maintaining all residents’ dietary needs.

Specific Requirements:

· Must be able to test cooked food for taste, temperature, and smell

· Must be able to plan and direct food service staff to prepare and serve high quality food on time and at proper temperature for meals and snacks

· Must be able to ensure that the patient’s physician ordered diets are prepared and served accurately at meals and snacks

· Must be able to order food, supplies, and equipment for food preparation and service, reviewing all deliveries of food for quality, proper amounts, and pricing

· Must be able to recruit, select, train, counsel, and supervise food service staff

· Must be able to complete nutrition documentation timely and accurately

· Must be able to participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings involving nutrition

· Must be able to effectively manage and operate within budget

· Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients

· Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents

· Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance

· Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment

· Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team

Education and Experience:

· Supervisory experience is desirable

· Previous long-term care experience is desirable

· Computer experience

· Must have CDM
