Position Summary

Central Station is a newly formed department where employees monitor US and Canadian locations’ burglary, fire, and refrigeration alarms. Central Station will provide technical and real-time information, while simultaneously utilizing various security technology and monitoring systems. The Central Station Operators will review incoming alarm signals, contact locations and dispatch the proper authorities to provide a critical role in the delivery of emergency police, fire, and medical services in a 24 x 7 monitoring facility.

Please note: All work will be done in person; remote work is not available for this role.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Works in a 24 hour alarm monitoring facility; Responds to and processes incoming alarm signals via computer and phone.
• Determines priority, nature, and location of calls for assistance.
• Uses Windows based software programs to monitor incoming alarm signals. This will typically include phone calls to location management and jurisdictional authorities.
• Reviews and operates alarm, camera, and video systems for a variety of US and Canadian Costco locations.
• Issues warnings and alerts, notifies location’s management, and appropriately escalates incidents to senior leadership.
• Logs calls and performs data entry.
• Ability to professionally and effectively collaborate with content experts.
• Regular and reliable workplace attendance at your assigned location.
• Report to work in person at an office located in Issaquah, WA.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.

Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications

Required:

• Able to work a flexible schedule including graveyard, evenings, weekends and holidays (24 x 7 environment). Willing and able to work overtime during critical incidents.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to type 35 wpm. Skills based tests will be administered for candidates that are interviewed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Must have excellent troubleshooting skills, be well-organized, and able to identify and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to meet state and/or federal requirements.
• The ability to report to work in person at an office located in Issaquah, WA.
