The Regional Director of the Consumer Bank plays a vital role in delivering an extraordinary customer experience by empowering our talented employees to surprise and delight our customers during each and every customer interaction. You will be responsible for setting business and people priorities in a designated geography that drives financial results and delivers an employee and customer obsessed culture. The Regional Director-Banking oversees Market Directors-Banking responsible for delivering results for the Consumer Bank and partnering fully with other lines of business to grow client relationships across Wealth Management, Private Banking, Business Banking, Home, Auto and Credit Card to deliver One Chase to our customers. In this role, you will drive the integration of deposits, investments and lending regionally, lead and build belief in the branch model to achieve key, financial metrics including year over year revenue and profit growth, deepening client acquisition and expense management.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Accountable for Regional results across a balanced scorecard of metrics including growth of deposits, investments and loans as well as customer engagement, employee recruiting and retention, operational excellence, digital adoption, controls and compliance. Manage performance through a disciplined cadence of field reporting and cross line of business reviews.
  • Partner closely with Wealth Management leaders to create a one-team approach to managing client Deposits and Investments regionally.
    • This partnership will include joint management of activities such as: deposit and investment balance growth; monitoring of investment referrals, First Time Investor and You-Invest trends; conducting joint interviews and selection of Market Director Wealth and Banking candidates; business practices, including having the knowledge and understanding to report systemic issues; employee development
  • Responsible for developing and executing long-term and short-term Regional growth strategies, both by acquiring new clients and by deepening existing client relationships, taking into consideration branch footprint and formats, marketing, community engagement, talent as well as customer and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong focus on clear communications and employee engagement.
    • Responsible for a hands on coaching and management of employees, and executing a large people agenda ranging across recruiting, retention, training, diversity, inclusion, performance management, career development, conduct and engagement in culture/community
    • Engage in constant re-skilling of the workforce as roles evolve rapidly with changing customer expectations
    • Set the tone of commitment to diversity and inclusion and seek to proactively protect and nurture a culture of belonging and respect
  • Serve as the thought leader on strategic priorities associated with the overall Consumer Bank transformation agenda by partnering with Divisional Director-Banking in testing and execution (e.g. launching new products and services) and leveraging analytics and listening posts to track performance, identify trends, address issues, remove barriers to success and escalate new ideas divisionally and nationally
  • Play a leadership role in the community through engagement in JPMC Market Leadership Teams and Business Resource Groups, Culture Councils, volunteer events as well as engaging in external community partnerships
    • Directly engages with clients through events and experiences
  • Lead Regional OneChase partnerships and forums to drive collaboration and deepening of client relationships across lines of business.
  • Manage and serve as the decision maker during day-to-day escalations associated with branch operations, extreme weather, catastrophes, security and more.
  • Establish fortress controls to safeguard our customers and business at all times. Ensure adherence to policy, self-identify and resolve issues, deliver satisfactory audits and comply with key policies and procedures (e.g. KYC and KYP)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • 10+ years proven experience coaching and managing multiple layers of management and employees in the organization
    • Ability to effectively lead and manage a large organization remotely
    • Ability to make decisions and lead through complex and sensitive issues, sometimes making decisions that may be unpopular
    • Ability to develop a diverse team and source and attract internal and external talent by building and maintaining personal network of contacts
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with other functional business lines
  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills with experience working across all levels within an organization
  • Excellent strategic vision; understands the direction of the business and industry; can articulate vision to motivate and influence others
  • Proven ability to lead through change to support culture of accepting missteps in order to achieve success
    • Ability to improve speed to execution by operating well in an ambiguous / ever -changing environment
  • Ability to quickly "reset" yourself and lead your team through moments of challenges and adversity
  • Working knowledge of investment services and product acumen with a keen interest in following and understanding financial market trends
