MCHC's Dora Street Health Center in Ukiah, CA is currently seeking a regular, full-time Call Center Agent. All Call Center Agents are to assist patients while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Calm and supportive, the Call Center Agent will greet patients, assist them in their request for services, schedule appointments, update demographic information, and otherwise ensure a satisfactory and productive visit to MCHC.


Primary Duties include:

  • Represents MCHC clinic through positive, courteous, and professional patient contact.
  • Efficiently and effectively answers, screens and routes calls utilizing a multi-line phone system. Tends to voicemail by listening, following up and clearing messages.
  • Utilizes current phone system to efficiently answer and address caller needs as necessary including, but not limited to, scheduling, rescheduling, cancelling appointments, transferring call to correct department/staff member, address caller needs/concerns, respond to inquiries about the organization, provide address, directions or other information as needed, etc.
  • Adheres to the strict HIPAA law regarding health information protection.
  • Maintains integrity of patient data by verifying and correcting information within the electronic scheduling platform.
  • Accurately schedules and maintains patient appointments according to policy and pace of individual provider current recipe.
  • Ensures appropriate scheduling according to allowances of insurance: Medi-Cal, Partnership, Medicare, CHDP/Gateway, Sliding Fee Scale, Private Insurance, and Cash paying accounts.
  • Keeps co-workers informed of any important information that may affect the Call Center.
  • Updates patient demographic/payer information as often as necessary to maintain accurate data.
  • Requests nurse to screen phone emergent calls.
  • Applies awareness of Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, Care for Her and Specialty current and incoming providers and the specific location/status of each.
  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to take on and learn new duties, such as DocuSign, Telehealth, etc.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two or more years experience in related field, preferably in a dental or medical reception office
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish, fluent
