CAD Technician II’s are technical positions to support assigned planners, engineers, and landscape architects by providing technical CAD support and creating construction drawings using CAD software for projects under supervision of senior technical and professional staff. They will assist with the creation and education of Department and Company CAD processes and procedures. They will also compile technical data from drawings, field notes, code requirements, and/or electronic data.

This is a hybrid position where you will be required to work in the Cary/Raleigh, North Carolina office on an occasional basis. We are looking for CAD Technician's to join our Residential and/or Site Civil teams.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Draft preliminary layouts from engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings, ensuring they meet our company and industry standards and codes
  • Assist in the completion and assemblage of engineering drawings
  • Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Review own work and work of other CAD Technicians for completeness and accuracy according to company QA/QC and CAD standards; Assist in QA/QC processes
  • Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information per our company policies and procedures
  • Create and reproduce drawing and document packages
  • Mentor other technical staff on CAD processes and procedures Participate in the development and refinement of CAD processes, procedures, and policies of the Department and Company
  • Analyze technical problems; devise new or improved techniques, approaches, and alternative solutions; and communicate those to supervisor for approval and implementation

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree preferred
  • 3+ years Civil 3D experience
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and team-oriented
  • Execute multiple tasks under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn and mentor
  • Willingness to take direction

Working Conditions

The assignment will require occasional evening and weekend work, infrequent job site visits outdoors, and working in collaborative, fast-paced, and client-driven environment.

Physical Requirements

The assignment may occasionally require repetitive physical tasks (such as operating a computer), standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time, extended time travelling in a vehicle, and carrying equipment and materials up to 25 pounds.
