Role Summary:

This role is responsible for the company to procure food products at the most favorable cost and terms consistent with standards of quality. Develop and maintain a supplier base that supports company objectives regarding quality, cost, inventory requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Utilize category expertise and vendor specific knowledge to manage inventory levels for all assigned items, suppliers and/or categories while maintaining service level targets to our customers across multiple distribution centers.
  • Deliver on KPI’s for task specific goals such as: Service Level, Days-Inventory-On-Hand (DIOH), Excess and Obsolete Inventory (E&O) and Spoilage.
  • Negotiate and place the order with vendors, review contract and confirm shipping schedule (shipping time and destination). Input the contract and shipment schedule into import ledger.
  • According to the weight limitation, by compare ocean freight, on board date with different shipping forwarders to determine the booking and trace the shipments if needed.
  • Responsible for daily procurement including negotiate price with suppliers, create efficient purchase orders with our suppliers by analyzes economic order quantities, forecasts, lead times, vendor set-up, safety stock, etc., receive confirmation, track orders, send invoices, arrange transportation, and resolve any arise issues in timely manner.
  • Review projected out of stock report proactively daily to ensure we deliver on customer order fulfillment.
  • Establish sharp communication with internal partners on supplier production delays or order shortages, while pursuing recovery options with urgency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external business partners to reduce overstock, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, as well as initiate product returns where applicable. Utilize understanding of product shelf life and manufacturing dates in the prevention of spoilage for specific buying categories.
  • Cooperate with the Logistics team to identify and achieve freight consolidation to maximize net income.
  • Keep up to date with government food safety and handling procedure requirements of each category items.
  • Collaborate with affiliated companies to ensure their inventory is moderate and share market price with them.
  • Escalate any issues to upper-level management team.
  • Other duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Out-of-business hours support may required.

Key Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree is highly preferred.
  • 1+ working experience or direct inventory management/supply chain experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with suppliers, sales, field partners and other business contacts via telephone, email, and video conference.
  • General understanding of logistics and connections in support of an efficient distribution model.
  • Able to deal with high pressure situations to meet daily/weekly timelines with high sense of urgency.
  • Ability to function in Microsoft Excel as well as ERP system environments preferred.
  • Bilingual Chinese/Mandarin and English is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
