The Business Strategy Manager, Direct Lending) will be responsible in assisting our product strategy team with design, oversight and maintenance of our business to consumer lending platform. This includes contributing to the strategy, implementation, and optimization efforts as well as developing a reporting platform to monitor and analyze areas which can be enhanced to increase efficiency and application pull through along with other ad hoc analyses as required. This key resource will sit on the Product Strategy team within the Risk organization and coordinate with the Direct Lending, Marketing, Pricing & Policy, Quantitative Analysis, IT, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure the business meets or exceeds current and long-term originations goals for the direct lending platform. This role will report to the AVP of Business Strategy, Product Management & Strategy, for Originations.

What is a day in the life at Flagship as a Business Strategy Manager - Direct Lending?

  • Support the design, oversight, and maintenance of the direct lending platform’s customer facing website and backend development system including business & product strategy, software development releases and ad hoc troubleshooting
  • Develop reporting capabilities to efficiently and effectively understand all inner workings and outputs of the direct lending platform’s customer facing website and backend development system to ensure optimal efficiency and expected outcomes
  • Become an expert within the loan origination system and scoring/pricing engine to determine areas of opportunity to increase system efficiencies and maximize business growth
  • Coordinate with internal Direct Lending, Marketing, Pricing & Policy, Quantitative Analysis, IT, Project Management, and Operations teams to streamline the efficiency of the direct lending platform’s customer facing website and backend development system to ensure optimization of the direct lending platform; includes but not limited to analysis of system and operational processes, data analysis within SQL and PowerBI, development of strategies, implementation of initiatives into direct lending platform, analysis of results, monitoring/reporting of findings to Product Strategy and Direct Lending team leaders
  • Collaborate with Direct Lending, Operations, and External Platform team members to ensure optimal efficiency between direct lending platform system design and operational processes
  • Troubleshoot outstanding issues impacting direct lending platform, LOS, scorecard, and pricing engine platforms as needed
  • Gain a deep understanding of internal loan origination system, application portals and internal processes to provide additional support to the risk product strategy team as needed
  • Support the Risk and Analytics teams on additional risk led projects and ad hoc analyses as needed

About you:

  • Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree required, area of concentration in business or computer science
  • Required: 3-4 years of experience in risk, strategy, or analytics environment, 5-6 years of experience preferred
  • Loan originations experience preferred; auto lending experience a plus
  • Experience with web platform design and optimization; including but not limited to A/B & Champion/Challenger testing
  • Experience with coding required; SQL required with other coding languages including Java, R, Python a plus
  • Preferred: Experience with business analytics such as PowerBI, report creation, data validation, key risk and performance indicators
  • Required: Quantitative reporting and analytical skills with the ability to navigate multiple systems to solve problems and drive results
  • Preferred: Knowledge of consumer finance / loan origination industry
  • Ability to develop strong working relationship with Direct Lending, Marketing, Product Strategy, Risk, Operations, and IT teams to become a valued and respected member of the Product Strategy team
  • Ability to think critically and logically leveraging creative problem solving and excellent decision-making skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, driven and motived by a fast-paced, demanding work environment, while managing several requests and responsibilities concurrently
  • Great team player with effective listening skills and ability to work with multiple business partners across various teams within the organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both operational and technical teams including verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal forms of communication
  • Self-motivated with the desire and ability to identify inefficient processes and make recommendations to drive them to an optimized solution
  • Flexibility to work across multiple business lines and functional areas, communicating effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates an honest, professional, and ethical standard with strict adherence to corporate policies and procedures
  • Capacity to positively contribute to team performance in both in-person and remote/virtual work environments
  • Experience with SQL and PowerBI / Business Intelligence or equivalent reporting system required; Additional coding languages of Java, R, Python are a plus
  • Required: Highly Proficient in MS-Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) with extensive knowledge of Excel in particular pivot tables and graphical displays of data
  • Required: Experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or other remote working platforms

Compensation:

Salary Range: $96,400 - $127,700 DOE, plus annual bonus opportunity

Our compensation packages are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-specific conditions.
