This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Idaho Water Local Business Leader for our Boise Office!

Boise is WSP’s largest investment market, growing from 3 people to 28 in just one year. We are seeking growth-oriented individuals bring their vision and build our water team. The water infrastructure market is seeing unprecedented funding and investment, while also craving new solutions, ideas, and innovative technology. WSP is eager to be a top 5 water solutions provider, and is investing in team players to innovate, imagine, and inspire. This role provides high level leadership in WSP’s water business, partnering with the District Business Line Leader to identify and deliver projects in Idaho. You’ll be a part of our regional water leadership team in the Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana) and provide leadership for WSP’s water business as the local business line leader for Idaho. This position will identify and hire staff members needed to achieve this growth and will be responsible for developing and implementing the Idaho water strategic plan. Ideal candidates are practice builders, with bring high-energy to motivate and inspire the local team.

Key performance indicators include Revenue, Funding (project wins), EBITDA (margin), Organic Growth, Utilization, and Inclusion & Diversity and Guiding Principles.

Your Impact

  • Lead the growth, innovation, project delivery and client success for WSP’s water business in Idaho.
  • Dynamically manage a team of technical practitioners and “seller-doers”. Grow a team in Idaho to win and deliver water projects. This role is responsible for hiring and building a team.
  • Develop new client relationships and enhance existing ones.
  • Deliver projects of the highest quality for our clients.
  • Serve as project manager and/or design manager on projects as appropriate.
  • Focus on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standards.
  • Develops local growth, forecast and business development strategy in collaboration with Region Business Line Leaders and National Business Lines
  • Collaborate with regional, district leaders and other local business delivery leaders to strategically drive the business, manage project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and meet operational financial metrics.
  • Attract the best industry talent by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity and invites broad, creative thinking – crafting a more attractive place to work, grow and thrive.
  • Bring an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end markets.
  • Utilize our extended reach across regions, districts, offices and the globe to foster new and innovative client delivery.
  • Deploy our unique expertise and perspective to create new value for clients and provides civic and industry leadership within the local area.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong client and project delivery experience in the Water/Wastewater/Water Resources sector, with an understanding other market sectors within the A/E/C industry.
  • Understanding of the Idaho water market, including industry trends, drivers, and clients.
  • Technical understanding of water projects, including treatment, drinking water transmission, distribution, wastewater conveyance, and stormwater solutions.
  • Essential License (PE or other) as applicable.
  • Experience building business through external client engagement and internal sales management processes, including proposal development.
  • Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence and being goal-oriented.
  • Ability to innovate and re-think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement.
  • Commitment to internal and external client service.
  • Motivational; innovative mindset; excellent leadership and mentoring/teaching skills; collaborative, drives consensus.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
