The Business Analyst helps the Enterprise Technology Department and its partners to transform ideas for improvement into business value through research, analysis, and projects. The analyst will help implement and continuously improve consulting and project management processes, standards, and templates for Enterprise Technology, and provide expertise on these things to its partners. The analyst is a generalist with knowledge of business principles, information technology, and analytical techniques that operates under moderate supervision.

Essential Functions

Depending on the assignment, the incumbent may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties, and perform related duties as assigned.


  • Conduct research and analysis as needed to support Enterprise Technology goals and functions; includes collaborating with technical teams, vendors, and business partners
  • Analyze current state and business requirements of systems and functions to frame a challenge and/or create an idea/issue statement
  • Create a business case for a solution (desired future state) Create/co-create and analyze solution alternatives
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral reports and presentations Assist with budget preparation and other administrative functions
  • Coordinate projects to include: defining requirements and scope; working with stakeholders; planning and estimating; managing schedules, budget, quality, and risk; include organization change management practices; creating documentation and managing knowledge transfer; and conducting reviews and lessons-learned Help create processes, standards, or templates for consulting, business analysis, and project management

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into requirements
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Consulting, business analysis, and project management skills Proven ability to prioritize projects and workload
  • Highly self-motivated and directed

Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant experience) in business, technology, or a related discipline
  • IIBA or similar certifications (preferred)
  • Experience in consulting, business analysis, and project management (preferred)
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products

Physical Requirements

Requires mainly office work, involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, copier, etc.

The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to, and build relationships with a diverse clientele.
