TITLE: Bus Driver
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Transportation Coordinator
Status: Non-exempt, Part-time, Hourly
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Bus Driver is responsible for picking up and dropping off Boys and Girls Club members and managing a daily route. This position also completes deliveries & pickups, and transports items for special events as needed. They ensure strict compliance with all sanitation measures, social distancing, and face coverings, reporting all COVID related health concerns to the Transportation Coordinator. The Bus Driver also assists in maintaining Club vehicles.
Responsibilities within these areas include:
SKILLS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Pick up and deliver Boys and Girls Club members in a safe and timely manner.
- Assist Transportation or the Facilities Department with routine maintenance and upkeep.
- Demonstrate skills both verbal and written to communicate with a diverse population of members, as well as adults.
- Provide a safe and secure environment and experience for all Club members.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment at all times.
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 6 months commercial driving experience preferred.
- Staff working with our members are considered to be in a safety sensitive position and are required to submit to pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana and random drug screening, as applicable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.- Must be able to use hands and arms to enter data into the computer, use the telephone and other office equipment
- Must be able to lift, move manipulate and or hold objects up to 45 pounds. Objects that exceed the 45 pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting or manipulating.
