Responsibilities:
A BSA Processor specializes in large currency transaction report (CTR) processing, electronic filing and BSA large currency exemption review. The processor will maintain a working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, with emphasis on CTR preparation and filing in order to be proficient in monitoring, training, and responding to daily questions. The BSA Processor complies with operating policies and procedures, communicates with appropriate personnel, responds to inquiries or requests for information, maintains appropriate records, provides assigned reports, and conducts other FIU projects as assigned.

  • Review, process and acknowledge large currency on a daily basis. Amend when errors are discovered after electronic submission to the IRS.
  • Ensure the CTR filing is current, per the regulation.
  • Assist in annual CBNA Exemption List reviews.
  • Complete and file Designation of Exempt Person forms and files with the IRS.
  • Identify branch errors and report to management, for training purposes
  • Maintain ongoing working knowledge of the BSA Efiling requirements, and participate in the testing and roll out of any efiling enhancements/upgrades.
  • Participate in CBNA Exemption List reviews.
  • Participate in mergers/acquisition as needed for large currency related issues.
  • Provide quality service to customers, whether internal or external.
  • Demonstrate cooperative efforts in working with other departments and within own department.
  • Coordinate specific work tasks with other personnel in order to insure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Comply with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and support the bank’s adherence to outside regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate with management and staff personnel in order to integrate goals and activities.
  • Respond to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from other bank personnel, customers, Bank Examiners and Auditors etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Maintain appropriate records and provide assigned reports.
  • Complete and file Designation of Exempt Person forms and files with the IRS.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.
  • As an integral member of the FIU Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the FIU Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.
Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; specialized FIU training required.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skills.
  • Proficient PC, interpersonal relations and communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of bank products and services, along with the operational policies and procedures that impact these products is also required.
  • Minimum of two ( 2) years experience in a related position.
