PRIMARY PURPOSE*: The Bistro Attendant is responsible for assisting guests in the Courtyard Bistro and all catering outlets in an efficient and courteous manner. Effectively promotes the Bistro, takes orders, and prepares/delivers food and beverage orders. Adheres to all health regulations, and follows SREE Hotels’ high standards of quality to ensure guest satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES: *Our Bistro Team Members master a wide variety of food & beverage functions, from serving coffee and other beverages (including alcohol), to preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. This position processes all orders and collects payment from customers, and provides assistance in food & beverage areas including busing, cleaning, resetting tables, and delivering food to guests. This position also performs general cleaning and maintenance of food and beverage prep areas, counts the bank at end of shifts, and follows property control audit standards and cash handling procedures.

• Completes opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools.
• Cleaning all equipment and areas.
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains work areas.
• Takes customer orders, inputs orders into order system, obtains payment and provides change.
• Communicates additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Prepares food, coffee and other beverages, including alcohol (during PM Shifts).
• Prepares ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Prepares and cooks food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
• Provides assistance in Food & Beverage areas including busing, cleaning and resetting tables
• Delivers food to guests.
• Performs general cleaning of food & beverage prep areas and other areas within the lobby area.
• Counts bank at end of shift, completes designated cashier reports, resolves any discrepancies, drops off receipts, and secures bank.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIREMENTS*

• Previous Courtyard Bistro experience or similar food outlet experience (e.g. Panera, Starbucks) preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Friendly, outgoing, customer service – oriented personality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Problem solving and decision making skills.
• Hands-on experience with cash register and POS systems.
• Able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Ability to read and process orders as they appear on the screen.
• Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain certification
• Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks when needed

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS*
Employees in this position work primarily indoors. Employees work in a customer- facing environment, and must be able to provide excellent customer service at all times. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements. Employees must be able to walk, stand, bend, and sometimes lift up to 50 pounds.
