Clifford Beers is a mental health clinic serving children and families. Our mission is to provide integrated services addressing mental, physical, and social determinants in order to improve health, resiliency and quality of life for children, families and communities.
PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Director Revenue Cycle, this position is primarily responsible for managing the billing functions for all third-party payers and private pay clients. Additionally, this position will provide key support for revenue reporting, audits and other billing management functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage all aspects of billing for client services

· Prepare accounts receivable reconciliation to the general ledger on a monthly basis

· Manage all billing system issues and changes in close collaboration with Clinic EHR system provider

· Communicate and collaborate with the Quality Improvement team

· Provide support for accounting functions including month end reporting, audits and annual budgets

· Develop and maintain relationships with all third party payers and resolve collections issues

· Work closely with the front desk to collect co-payments and open patient balances

· Work in partnership with the Compliance team

· Monitor and resolve aging accounts

· Suggest/implement process improvements to increase the collection efforts of the billing team

· Manage performance, evaluate growth and professional development opportunities for all direct reports

· Organize and implement staff training regarding billing practices and procedures, and other departmental related matters

· Other duties as assigned by Management

· EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management or Accounting, or 5+ years of Medical Billing experience

· Three years supervisory experience

· Two years’ experience reconciling and resolving billing transactions with the accounting general ledger system

SKILLS:

· Demonstrated mastery of business office technology including high level expertise with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office software

· Strong third party billing knowledge with both Medicaid and commercial carriers.

· Behavioral Health billing experience preferred

· Strong problem solving skills

· Demonstrated ability to proactively ensure that the program[s] runs smoothly and staff is fully supported.

· Demonstrated ability to effectively allocate time to complete work; delegate appropriately; coordinate and manages employees’ and own schedule to maximize return and decrease downtime.

· Ability to involve others in team decisions and actions; values and elicits differing opinions to strengthen results.

· Ability to adhere to the team’s expectations and guidelines and demonstrate personal commitment to the team

· Dedicated ability to promote agency mission and vision across department

REQUIREMENTS

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

TRAVEL:

· This role may require travel throughout the Greater New Haven area

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

· 20% of the time is spent making repetitive motions

· 30% of the time spent sitting

· 20% walking, bending, standing, stooping, crouching or kneeling

· 30% of the time is spent using hands to type, write, or use controls
