What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Billing & Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Completion of medical billing-related activities including claims submission and follow-up, payment posting, denials management, refunds, claims reconciliation, insurance verification, and quality tracking
  • Follow up on outstanding insurance and self-pay account receivables
  • Inputting sales entry into our electronic billing system following the organization’s standards - while performing reconciliation and follow-up, as needed.
  • Identify and discuss Billing and A/R Status problems with management staff, and develop strategies to address issues, inefficiencies, and optimization
  • Maintain knowledge of changing healthcare regulations and requirements applicable to business needs

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year college degree preferred OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 1-year healthcare billing, healthcare revenue cycle, or healthcare customer service experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of HCPCS coding, Professional Billing standards, and HIPAA requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with data entry and 10-key
  • Decision-making, problem resolution, and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask and work with shifting priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel
