About the Job

Our Phone MAs are the liaison between our providers and patients ensuring excellent patient care in every stage of the process. This position requires a bilingual candidate that is able to communicate in both English and Spanish.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answer phones in a timely, respectful, and kind manner.
  • Check email daily and respond in a prioritized manner.
  • Execute medication reconciliation per visit.
  • Obtain prior-authorization for medication requests as required by patient’s insurance policy.
  • Handle prescription refill duties in accordance with all applicable regulations and protocols.
  • Enter medical information into the Electronic Medical Record.
  • Assist in the organization and cleanliness of workstations and patient rooms after each visit.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
  • Maintain a customer-service and customer satisfaction mindset at all times.
  • Provide clinical assistance to physicians and providers as needed.
  • Assist provider with paperwork concerning parking permits, medical clearance forms, FMLA, etc.
  • Ensure biohazard waste is in compliance with OSHA at all times.
  • Communicate inventory requirements with clinical officer manager on a monthly basis.
  • Maintain and organize a consistent flow of patients.
  • Be in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations and yearly CMS required forms. (i.e., PHQ9, COA, Full Risk Assessment, and other as needed).
  • Work as a team player and assist others when needed
  • Scan any documents brought by the patient into the Electronic Medical Record.
  • From time to time, as needed, perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Office Manager.

Our Phone MAs will also be crossed trained to perform the following duties if needed:

  • Perform EKGs, injections, urine tests, glucose testing, etc.
  • Escort patients to and from treatment rooms.
  • Distribute health information and collect specimens.
  • Perform phlebotomies.
  • Pre-screen patients either through phone or in person, such as checking vitals, collection of specimens, and other relevant information.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
  • Previous Experience as Medical Assistant (2 years preferred)
  • MA Certification preferred (qualifications will be verified)
  • A friendly personality with a positive attitude
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual candidate, English /Spanish required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
